International education grounded in social justice.

Innovative strategies to spark introspection and decolonize relationships with the developing world

I’m on a mission to further the impact of education abroad by providing customized approaches to decolonize narratives of the developing world.

And I’m happy you’re here.

My vision

I’m building the kind of international experiences I needed when I was young. I was fascinated by the world around me, outraged by injustice, committed to making a difference, but participated in service learning programs which reinforced imperialistic views of the developing world. I had all the drive, I just didn’t have a vehicle for my social responsibility.

I believe in the power international experiences have to radically transform participants, host communities, and facilitators. I also believe that programming is most impactful when it serves to dismantle systematic oppression through ethical partnerships within the Global South.

Today’s youth are seeking meaningful change and the opportunity to participate in the future of their world. Now’s the time to commit to mutually beneficial relationships, examining biases, and activating critical empathy at home and abroad.

My work

I have spent over ten years working across five continents to teach leadership, intercultural communication, and community development. I have led student programs in the midst of military coups, mass protests, and medical crises. I am a problem solver. I’m now bringing that work home.

I partner with study abroad providers, nonprofits, and educators to develop curricula grounded in social justice and committed to giving tomorrow’s leaders a framework from which to explore power, privilege, and equity.

I offer customized strategies to define learning outcomes, diversify programming, create assessment tools, and deprogram imperialism from international travel. I see enormous capacity within our industry to be a beacon of change and hope. And I see it within you, too.
